Although Krishnamurti had spoken for many years in the United States, he had never given public talks in Washington, D.C. In 1985, he agreed to do so and met on two days in April of that year with large audiences from diverse backgrounds.
There is a feeling in these two talks that Krishnamurti was communicating as much as possible of the teachings which he had been giving in many parts of the world for over sixty years. Once more he invited his audiences to 'walk together, investigate together, look together at the world we have created'. In a revealing manner unique to Krishnamurti the talks go into the various factors of human consciousness playing a dominant role in our daily life. At the age of ninety, Krishnamurti spoke from the fullness of his insight and teaching.
